A member asked:

I have been given utrogestan vaginal suppositories to stop my bleeding and restart it again so i can begin fertility treatment. i was scared to take provera due to blood clot risks stated on them. are these vaginal suppositories safer? scared to die?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood clots are associated with estrogen rather than progesterone, and unfortunately the Provera black box warning conflates the two. Utrogestan is a natural progesterone that avoids that confusion and is probably a better choice. In any case your risk of clots is very small.
