Vaginal burning and itching "after" using monistat 1....why?? i thought this was supposed to make the itching go away. also should i call my dr?

Aging and menopause could cause a change in the vagina because of less estrogen and the itching and burning you have may be because of that rather than due to yeast infection. It is not a bad idea to also talk with your doctor.

All itching is not from yeast infections and sensitivity reactions to the medication are not at all uncommon. If you have verified the infection, one day treatments like this are appealing for convenience but my experience (40 years) is that the various three day treatments work better and are less likely to be irritating themselves.
