A member asked:

I had one meningitis vaccine when i was 16 years old, would that still protect me now from bacterial or viral meningitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vaccines to bacterial agents like meningococcus are given at times when people most often congregate in groups. Teen years, college entry, military recruit times are when exposure/transmission are higher. The protection gradually fades so I wouldn't consider you covered for that agent at 30. The risk has also declined so it is seldom recommended to most adults.
