Got a 4th gen duo hiv test done at 4weeks and 6weeks, both came negative. found some information on biotin. would my 5mg taken daily affect my results? found other forums but in lower doses. would 10mg affect? as these are doses found over the counte?

The only HIV test with which biotin interferes is the Alere Determine®) point of care rapid test, not the lab-based AgAb (4th generation) tests. These doses might interfere with that particular test. However, biotin does not accumulate in the body and is gone from the blood within a day or two after the last dose. If you remain concerned, just skip the biotin for a few days before being tested.
