A member asked:

I was recently startled by a loud noise in the morning and woke up with a racing heart. soon after i had dull chest pains on the left side of chest that still haven't completely gone away. could this indicate a weak heart or some other cardiac issue?

Many things cause chest pain, cardiac issues, but it is impossible to diagnose the cause of your chest pain without a medical evaluation. Chest pain can be caused by a range of factors, including heart attacks, angina, pericarditis, myocarditis, and other cardiac conditions. However, chest pain can also be caused by non-cardiac factors such as anxiety, acid reflux, muscle strain, or lung problems.
