A member asked:

What's orthostatic hypotension and what causes it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Orthostatic hypotension occurs when there is a sudden change in your position. When lying on the beach or in bed and you get up fast, your blood vessels fail to constrict thus causing a lowering of your pressure. You will feel a little dizzy, a little confused, some nausea and other effects, but only temporary. Nothing to worry about at your age.
