Toenail infections are common caused by a variety of factors, including injury, trauma, and fungal or bacterial infections. In your case, it seems youv'e a toenail infection after accidentally debriding the skin near your toenail. If there is no abscess or pus present, avulsion may be a viable solution to the problem.
