A cough is a protective mechanism that allows the patient to move debris from deep in the lung up and out. We do not use "cough" meds in infants. Any treatments that may help like a vaporizer, mucus dissolver, etc. must be picked by her treating doc based on their assessment of the need. Contact her doc for any such change.

COVID 19 infection may linger and pronged cough may be associated. A worsening of her respiratory pattern, difficulty breathing warrants further management. Nasal saline may reduce cough related to post nasal drip. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and difficulty feeding. A virtual consult with Healthtap is available and please follow up with your Pediatrician.
