A member asked:

My newborn has what ive seen called a sacral dimple. i believe it was noticed at birth but the doctor didnt say that it was bad. will it cause issues? its just a dimple in his buttcrack above his anus. nothing accompanied with it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

By itself it is a common normal variant if it is a simple dimple with intact skin at the bottom. I would not waste any time worrying about it. If it ends in an endless pit/pore over the lower spine bring it to the docs attention at his next visit.
