Can my 5 month old go 12 hours without eating if she only had 25.5oz of formula today?

Has she had wet diapers? Is she ill with a fever or any vomiting or diarrhea? Those factors are important to answer this properly. If she is urinating and not having those issues, she is probably fine. Many babies sleep that long without drinking or eating. If you’re still not sure or she isn’t urinating please contact her doctor.

Offer a feeding every 5 to 6 hours and maintain good hydration and nutrition. The growing infant needs the nutrition of formula or nursing. Solids offer nutrition but are not a substitute for formula or breast milk. Watch for signs of lethargy and check her temperature. Watch for signs of dehydration including dry diapers. An occasional skipped feed should not be problematic.
