Even with a "tubal ligation or tied tubes" the tubes can (rarely) reopen to permit fertilization. Prolonged bleeding as described can be caused by other sources (polyps, cervical inflammation), so see your GYN provider for an exam after first obtaining a serum HCG test to be certain about pregnancy (ectopic).
