Maybe transiently. People with this problem have a genetic "set point" like the thermostat on your AC that tells the body what level of this material is right for a particular patient. I would be surprised if any reputable plasma center would accept a donation from someone with this problem.

It might. One of the ways we treat severe familial lipid problems which can cause heart attacks in childern is to remove lipids from blood and then return cleaned blood: called lipophoresis in some places.
