Using a corn remover and the skin turned white, should i still use it?

Skin turning white is expected as the remover caused the skin to deaden. Now the dead skin has to be removed. Did instructions come with product guiding you through this process & also subsequent care? I'd prefer to have a podiatrist perform corn removal.
