I had a bowel movement that was weird. it was long and soft. however, part of it was 'split open' and there were 3 or 4 darker brown round 'pebbles' onside. it was strange, because they were all same size. any idea what this is? thanks?

I don't find anything abnormal about this BM. Dietary factors & variations in motility patterns of the intestines play a role in size,shape,color and consistency of the stools. Have you had a screening colonoscopy within the past several years? If you still have concerns, consult a gastroenterologist for evaluation and advice.

It is not unusual for the color of this talk to be varied, and you can’t tell much about it based on the color. Unless this problem persists or you see solid black stool or red blood, I would not worry about it. Good luck.
