This could be either nongonococcal urethritis or gonorrhea, but NGU is more likely; gonorrhea discharge is cloudy or yellow (pus) and urination painful. Cefpodoxime is not the correct treatment against either of these. It might or might not be effective against gonorrhea and definitely will not treat NGU. Doxycycline is recommended for NGU and a single shot of ceftriaxone for gonorrhea.
