Severe menstrual cramping with menstruation may be caused by endometriosis, which are caused by endometrial cells in the abdominal cavity, which bleed with menstruation, causing pain. Consult your GYN physician about endometriosis, and ask about low dose oral contraceptives, which will reduce the cramping and protect fertility.
