A member asked:

Can hormonal imbalance cause anxiety? not normal anxiety but clinical anxiety?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes.: Dear ktwill, hormone imbalances can cause anxiety for some people. Low levels of Progesterone in women can cause insomnia, anxiety/depression, and postpartum depression as well. If you are experiencing significant anxiety, especially around your period, you may want to have your doctor check your hormone levels.
