9 years old daughter has been given tobramycin 0.3% opthalmic antibiotic for eye stye 1 drop 4 times a day. but she complains of pain when it is used. does she just need to put up with it or there is an alternate to this? may be oral antibiotics?

The topical antibiotics tend to cause a little bit of brief pain. If she is in moderate pain, please let your Pediatrician know. A virtual consult with Healthtap is available. There are some other options, and if she is having an allergic reaction, a switch is indicated. After 30 minutes following application, sometimes saline eye drops may relieve the symptom. Watch for redness and tearing.
