After i helped my mother yesterday carry some heavy water cans my left hand is acting strange. i don't feel any pain but i can hardly move it and it feels a bit numb. didn't go during the night. shall i go to the er?

You could certainly go to the ER to find out what is wrong-something isn’t right if you are unable to move it properly. If rest/ice didn’t improve it, you should have it evaluated. You may need to see a hand specialist after your ER visit. Good luck!

This has the hallmarks of an acute overuse syndrome affecting hand,wrist muscles and some peripheral nerves. I expect your symptoms to fully resolve with resting your hand & wrist. If you don't see gradual improvement have an examination by a hand specialist or a neurologist.
