If you have exposed nerve tissue due to extensive decay not only would the pain be excruciating, but brushing decay and bacteria into the tooth could accelerate an infection. Please treat them before intolerable pain sets in.

If you are going to practice good oral hygiene by brushing, then see a root canal specialist to remove exposed nerves before severe pain and infection spreads. You will only spread the bacteria and cause more pain by irritating the area with brushing. Save your teeth and avoid future problems.
