I would not focus on this issue until he is well into the 10 and up age group. The testis are resting under 10 or so and make minimal testosterone needed for normal pre-pubertal development. Even in their teens the tighty-whitey shorts are well tolerated by most. Adults concerned about maximizing sperm quality can be loose and feel good about it.
