I have degenerative disc l4 - l5. 2 days ago i got excruciating pain from bum to toes leg. emergency room said pinched nerve. today i awoke with no pain but completely numb from knee to toes, no movement in toes. is this permanent nerve damage?

It is very possible that your disc has fully ruptured compressing bilateral nerve roots. This is an apparent medical emergency and needs emergency room attention. A surgical decompression may be needed. If you have difficulty urinating, you have a brief window of time. Get attention NOW, do NOT wait!!
