My son was elbowed in the eye this afternoon. it's not bruised but he's hurting. he said his eyeball hurts (not the eye socket or surrounding). he almost vomited from the pain. his pupil is not reacting to light. do i need to take him to the er?

Yes, you need to take him to the ER for evaluation of his eye injury. Pain that severe indicates a problem and a non- reactive pupil further indicates that something is wrong. It is imperative that his eye be evaluated right away so that no vision is lost. Good luck to both of you!
