Yes, that certainly could happen. But if the diagnosis isn't certain in both locations, see a doctor or clinic ASAP to confirm the diagnosis (e.g. with an HSV PCR test) and best treatment. One of UK's excellent NHS GUM clinics would be an excellent option. Good luck.

Thank for your help. My IGg HSV-1 level was 38.10 post 5.5 week encounter with a woman who is positive. We had oralsex & kissing. Is this normal after a one time encounter. Other forums have told me with those numbers Ive had it for a while?
Really confused: most docs say HSV 1&2 can be detected in blood (igg) in 6-8 weeks. A few say more time is needed. Why different answers? What is it?
