A member asked:

I'm taking oral contraceptive pills for my pcos. my doctor told me that taking the pills, i won't see my period but suddenly saw spotting today. what does it mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many who take the pill will see a reduction or end to menses. This often depends on the type of pill and how it is used. However, the uterus can and does build up endometrial tissue and there can be breakthrough bleeding which is just a different form of menses. This is not too alarming but something you should discuss with your doc.
