An ultrasound could contribute to findings of the appearance of the kidney, but does a little to help pinpoint the loss of function which may be present. This would Be better determined by laboratory evaluation and a good history and physical exam by a nephrologist. You should see one ASAP if you think you are having kidney problems. Good luck.
