A member asked:

I recently had a mri of the breast that showed normal breast findings, but a nonspecific 9 mm nodular opacity was found at the right lung base near the liver. what does "nonspecific" and "nodular opacity" mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Nonspecific" means no particular characteristic of the nodule indicating its origin was found on the MRI image. The "9mm nodular opacity" simply refers to the size and solid (opaque) nature of the nodule in comparison to surrounding breast tissue. Ask your physician who ordered the MRI for guidance.
