A member asked:

Im going to take out my iud in 7 days. with sperm lasting several days, am i at risk of getting pregnant taking out the iud 7 days after intercourse? it is a copper iud if that matters?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sperm can survive for up to 5 days in the female genital tract. If you take the IUD out, 7 days after the last episode of sex, your risk for pregnancy would be remote. Get HPV vaccine.
