A member asked:

I'm 21, sexually active , on diane 35 bc pills. on december i got my withdrawal bleed as planned and after 2 days of its end i noticed brown, dry, thick strings of blood and it didn't stop for 2 months. what could that be? is it normal?

The use of low dose oral contraceptives (Diane 35) requires punctual attention to taking the "active" pills". Taking the active pills within the same hour as the prior day's active pill will diminish "withdrawal bleeding" as described. Other causes of prolonged "brown discharge" may arise from cervical inflammation with sexual activity. See your GYN physician for an exam/guidance.
