Have been on aspirin for 7 weeks because of nonweight bearing injury. i am now weight bearing & can stop aspirin. should i ween off or can i just stop? i am currently in 325mg twice a day. heard stopping aspirin suddenly increases stroke risk. thanks?

Ten years ago, I likely would have given you a different answer. But, you are "correct". Several years ago it was discovered in one study I looked at, that patients who stopped taking "low dose" 81 mg aspirin, had a 37% higher chance of heart attacks or stroke over the next 3 years. At your age, these risks are rather small, but never zero. You may want to discuss this with your doctor
