Sealed expired afrin - what are the risks? besides for not being as effective. just need for one or two uses for a flight?

Probably there is no risk and it will work just fine. Drug expiration dates do not mean the drug is unsafe or less effective after that time, only that it hasn't been tested longer. There can be a problem if poorly stored, especially at high temperature. (The classic example is in a car in the summer.)
