I have genital herpes and im taking aciclovir (400mg, 3 tablets a day) and i was wondering if i could use lidocaine cream to help ease the pain as the pain is very intense at the moment?

Yes, you can safely use the lidocaine. If you are being treated for newly acquired herpes and pain has not started to improve after 2-3 days, ask your doctor about a higher dose of acyclovir, or perhaps switch to valacyclovir, which provides higher blood levels of active ingredient to kill the virus. Some people don't absorb enough acyclovir in 400 mg doses. Good luck.
