I keep having a sharp pain on the top rear side of my head. only lasting for a couple seconds. it hurts extremely bad. what could this be?

Headache type: Could be a primary stabbing headache or "ice pick" headache, tends to cause intense pain for only a few moments. Rarely treated because it's over by the time you could get treatment. Usually not a sign of underlying disease.
