Why does my upper back between my scapulae hurt whenever i breathe deeply?

Go get checked out: If one is having pleuritic pain (pain when one breathes deeply), associated with fast heart beat and gasping for air, all occurring at the same time, not resolving, lasting longer than about 10minutes , then it is best to call 911, especially if one recently travelled long distances (ex: >4 hours by car/plane without moving around), had recent surgery, smoke, and/or take birth control pills.
