Dianosis needed: Assuming you sleep in the same bed as your wife she may have hives instead of insect bites. See your doctor yo get a definitive diagnosis. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or other anti histamines can relieve her itching.

Bed bugs: You can take antihistamines if you feel itchy. Topical steroid creams can be used on lesions. For a severe allergic reaction to bites – please seek medical evaluation and treatment. Here are some tell tale signs that your bites are being caused by bedbugs. First you may notice blood smears on your bedding (yes this is your blood).
