Hard to say: The effects of depoprovera can last up to one year. Some people will resume normal periods quickly than others. Eventually, you will return to your normal menstrual pattern.

Depo provera (medroxyprogesterone): It is difficult to predict when your period is going to return to normal after a depoprovera shot. They have been reported to not make periods return to up to a year from discontinuation. After the initial injection your periods can be irregular for the first 3-6 months. Another side effect of the drug is osteoporosis. It is reversible though.
