Gender Ultrasound: No. Typically around 14-16 weeks is the minimum. This assumes that you are counting fetal age beginning on first day of last menstrual period (lmp) and not date of conception. However, it is not standard of care to do a 16 week ultrasound. 20 weeks is typical so that a more complete screening of anatomy can be done.

No: Too early to tell. Genitalia of both sexes looks the same externally by ultrasoung until 11 or 12 weeks. After this point, differentiation occurs rapidly and sex can be detected by ultrasound if conditions (position of baby, body type of mother) are ideal.
