Why is it when i ovulate it feels like my period is coming. upset stomach and pressure in lower abdomen etc ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ovarian pain.: Some women are very sensitive to the stretch on their ovary from follicular cysts. When you ovulate, you have a dominant follicle containing the egg. Essentially that's just a big cyst, usually 2-4 cm in size. Some women can feel this enlarged cyst for a few days before it "pops" and they ovulate. It's called mittelschmerz. If this is particularly painful, i recommend birth control pills.
