I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea ahi 8. between apap and mandibular device which has less risk of harm? concerned about jaw or teeth damage from long term use of oral mandibular advancement devices but not sure if my fears are founded?

If your sleep apnea is obstructive and you are overweight, losing weight, not easy. is the better approach.

You have right to be concerned. Oral appliances can alter jaw position, resulting in malocclusion. If you are overweight, see GP about a controlled weight loss program. If upper jaw too narrow and/or lower jaw too far back, see an Orthodontist.
