My 36 year old son complains from time to time of his tonsil hurting.. the back of his throat always looks so bumpy and reddish.. what could this be.. he is not sick and no fever, is this serious? what can he do at home to help this?

It may have nothing to do with his tonsils. Get seen in person for an in depth examination. It is difficult to speculate by text.
