Gaviscon is a medication that helps gut gas come together and allow it to be expelled. It does not change why the gut makes bowel gas (bloating). Gut gas is a combination of air swallowed during feeds and gas created by gut germs as they feed off of digestive debris. Taking probiotics may alter the existing gut germs enough that the gas production declines.
