Can emphysema be stopped if it hasn't progressed too far? air trapping and hyperinflation (rv/tlc 44%) but normal fev1/fvc. someone said those may seem normal due to severe obesity, however i thought that was accounted for in calculations?

These values are part of a PFT report that has other results. An imaging study is often helpful. The RV/TLC ratio is elevated. The FEV1/FVC ratio is normal. Are you experiencing symptoms? COPD is usually associated with a low FEV1/FVC ratio.
