Metastatic cancer always is late stage, regardless of where metastasis has occurred. People with metastatic colon cancer eventually usually have it in other organs as well, such as liver and brain. If you have been diagnosed with colon cancer, these are questions for your doctor(s). If not, discuss your worries with your personal physician, especially if at high risk (e.g. strong family history).
