A member asked:

Posting for husband, 40 years old. last week, he had what i've learned is a spontaneous unilateral nipple discharge. his primary care doc saw him today and just said go to the er if it happens again. no referrals/tests. should we get a 2nd opinion?

Although breast malignancy is rare in men, a "nipple discharge" needs evaluation with a digital mammogram and further testing if indicated. See a general surgeon who specializes in breast disease and surgery for guidance.
