I think it's important to have a gynecologist examine and advise you as that discomfort is concerning unless it's due to faulty technique.

All common positions for intercourse should be painless. Definitely see a gynecologist soon. Be prepared to describe the pain in detail. For example is it inside, or is it on the outside (genital pain)? It would be a good idea for your husband to accompany you; the doctor may have questions for him as well.
