Secondary amenorrhea (absent periods) is defined as a period of no periods for 3 months or previously for 6 months, having pregnancy ruled out. Causes include outflow tract abnormalities, primary ovarian insufficiency, hypothalamic or pituitary disorders, other endocrine gland disorders, chronic disease, physiologic, or induced. Provera hormone challenge can be used, but the value is inconsistent
