A member asked:

Is there a good way to identify whether or not my turbinate swelling is occurring on the inferior or middle turbinate? tend to use a hand to prop open a nostril and do a heavy sniff in an attempt to clear it?

Without an endoscope it is almost impossible for most people to see their own middle turbinate. If you pull up your nasal tip, the pink fleshy mass on the lateral aspect of your view is the anterior tip of the inferior turbinate. The inferior turbinate is typically the main culprit in congestion.
