A member asked:

What amount of protection do just two doses of primary covid vaccines offer against severe illness to current strains on top of having a previous infection 4-5 months ago? i'm in a moderate risk area and wear a nk95?

Statistics suggest that the COVID-19 viral infections can still be transmitted, but very severe (usually respiratory) illness is prevented. Breakthrough infections even after COVID-19 vaccination is not uncommon.

It is now recommended that in your situation (having had the primary series) and even though you had COVID-19, that you get the new COVID-19 bivalent booster vaccine to best protect you. Also glad you are wearing a KN95 mask; both of these will best protect you! Stay well!
