A member asked:

I've had a migrane for 2 days and am taking topirmate 100mg at night. it isn't working. my question is, should i talk to my dr about buspirone? i've read there were positive studies that show it helps reduce migranes triggered by anxiety?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Topiramate is a very effective migraine preventative, but multiple adverse effects may well prohibit higher dosing. There are numerous far better medications and would suggest looking at the CGRP class. I personally would NEVER count on buspirone and do not feel it has an appropriate role in migraine management in the year 2022-2023.
