Lyme Disease IgG is the antibody that is produced from the immune system after the infection has been long gone or continues to persist in the chronic stage. Unfortunately, the test is not at all helpful in determining whether someone has a current infection or a previous infection, and when that previous infection was, and whether it was apparent.
